Sarah Janosik, LCSWMs. Janosik is founder and Clinical Director of Relate Center. She has been in private practice for more than 20 years. Sarah specializes in sex, intimacy, and couples counseling. She is actively involved in developing workshops surrounding sexual issues and raising public awareness regarding these sensitive issues. She has authored articles on sexuality and intimacy and continues to lecture on these topics professionally. Sarah received her post-graduate training in Human Sexuality at the University of California Medical School, San Francisco in 1981. She is Board Certified Diplomate and Licensed in Clinical Social Work.

Joel Fleschman, LCSW, MPHAs a partner and therapist with Relate Center, Joel Brings over 15 years of experience to the Center. He specializes in all areas of male and female sexuality, relational issues and physical illnesses with a mind and body component. With a special interest in the biology of mind, brain and body connections, Joel utilizes this information to facilitate change with individuals and couples. As a past Clinical Director of a psychiatric hospital and residential treatment centers, Joel has had significant experience leading treatment teams dealing with complex problems involving individuals, children and families. As a Founder of a cardiac prevention center, Hearts and Minds and a former Member of the Mayor’s Fitness Council, Joel focuses on the power and potential of positive change and optimal health. Joel received his Master in Social Work and Master in Public Health from Tulane University with an emphasis on behavioral health and family therapy.

Ali Bennatt, PTAli specializes in the treatment of pelvic floor dysfunction in men and women. As a partner and physical therapist in Relate, Ali use her specialized training in pelvic floor and gynecological physical therapy to assist clients in overcoming the musculoskeletal issues that contribute to sexual difficulties. She is a licensed physical therapist and has been in private practice, treating pelvic floor related disorders in both men and women, since 2000. Ali received her B.A. from the University of Texas in 1993 and her M.S. in Physical Therapy from Texas Women’s University in 1995. Prior to starting in private practice in 2000, Ali worked in a variety of settings including in patient rehabilitation, acute care, and out patient pain management. Ali is a member of the American Physical Therapy association and the section on Women’s Health and is a former board member of the Texas Physical Therapy Association. She has worked throughout her career to educate students, colleagues and the public regarding the importance of pelvic floor health and wellness.

Karen G. Swenson, MDDr. Swenson is Relate's Medical Director. She is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and is Board Certified by the American Board of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She received her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, in 1981. She has been in private medical practice, in Austin, since 1985. Karen conducts workshops, as well as diagnosing and treating patients within the integrated Relate approach.

Susan Steffes, PT, CD(DONA)As a physical therapist with Relate, Susan specializes in pelvic health for both women and men. She is a recipient of the American Physical Therapy Association’s CAPP-Pelvic certification having demonstrated advanced skills in the assessment and treatment of both female and male pelvic disorders. Susan serves on the American Physical Therapy Association, Section on Women’s Health - Certificate of Achievement Committee for Obstetric Physical Therapy where she plays an integral part in determining course content and instructing for the obstetric certification courses. Her passion and special interest in obstetric physical therapy is enhanced by the unique perspective of having practiced as a DONA Certified Birth Doula and Birthing From Within Childbirth Mentor. Susan is a 1994 Physical Therapy graduate of Texas State University, a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, the Section on Women’s Health and the Texas Physical Therapy Association where she formerly served on the Governmental Affairs & Ethics committees. In addition, Susan is a lifetime member of The Coalition for Improving Maternity Services, and a member of the Central Texas Doula Association, Lake Travis ISD Student Health Advisory Council, and Impact Austin. Susan has been a strong advocate for women’s health and compassionate care throughout her career. She has been privileged to speak at the national, state, collegiate and local level on topics related to women’s health and pelvic disorders. Stephanie Hahn, PTThrough work as a physical therapist with the Relate Center, Stephanie's focus is on the treatment of pelvic floor disorders such as incontinence, pelvic pain/vulvodynia and pelvic muscular and joint imbalances. Her focus on women's health is augmented by further certification to treat pre-natal and post-partum women to assist them with pregnancy-related musculoskeletal disorders. She is a 1987 graduate of the University of Texas Health Science Center in Dallas with a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Physical Therapy. Following graduation, Ms. Hahn practiced in both acute care and outpatient rehabilitation facilities where she treated a diverse range of neurological and orthopedic injuries. After completing an advanced residency in orthopedics, Ms. Hahn received her Board Certification as a Specialist in Orthopedic Physical Therapy in 1996. Later that year, she founded the first women’s health physical therapy practice in Austin, Texas, focusing on pelvic floor dysfunction in women. Stephanie received her certification as a Pilates Instructor in 2002 after completing a two year program through the PhysicalMind Institute. She has been educating men and women in the Pilates method of conditioning since 2000. With Stephanie's 23 years of experience in evaluation and treatment of the human body, she continues to find partnering with others on their journey to recovery to be an exciting and fulfilling endeavor.

Melissa MonroeMelissa is a pilates instructor with Relate and brings over 20 years of experience with fitness and movement to the center. She is a fully certified STOTT Pilates® Instructor and Personal Trainer. As STOTT Pilates® Instructor, Melissa incorporates the most contemporary research on exercise and body alignment. Melissa’s clients benefit from her extensive knowledge of anatomy and body types, her in depth, individualized programming and her clear teaching style. Melissa strives for each client to achieve wellness goals while strengthening the mind-body and breath-body connection in collaboration with the Relate team.
